Want to turn your passion for care into a career? This entry-level course gives graduates an understanding of the role of a care worker in community and residential settings.
CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) has been designed specifically for students wishing to gain employment in the support services industry, providing support to individuals with disability.
This nationally recognised accreditation reflects the role of workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to disability or another reason.
Working in the support industry involves using discretion and judgement in relation to individual support as well as taking responsibility for own outputs.
Additionally, workers have a range of factual, technical, and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centred support.
Duration
This course runs On Campus 3 days per week for a period of 16 weeks.
This time is divided as follows:
- Class attendance is scheduled for all units over a period 16 weeks
- Vocational placement is conducted over a 3-4 week period (this is scheduled and planned with the student employer and vocational placement officer).
