The CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support qualification gives the skills and knowledge to work as Personal Care Assistants or Assistants in Nursing, providing assistance with the activities of daily living. Graduates will be able to work in residential setting such as nursing homes, hostels, supported accommodation and private homes. This new qualification combines Aged Care, Disability and Home and Community Care settings and is the minimum standard required to work in the Care Industry. Depending on which sector of the Care Industry you wish to work in, you can choose units to specialise in Aged Care, Disability or Home and Community Care.

This course reflects the role of support workers who complete specialised tasks and functions in aged services; either in residential, home or community based environments. Workers will take responsibility for their own outputs within defined organisation guidelines and maintain quality service delivery through the development, facilitation and review of individualised service planning and delivery.
Workers may be required to demonstrate leadership and have limited responsibility for the organisation and the quantity and quality of outputs of others within limited parameters.
