Persons wishing to enter the industry as licensed security (unarmed), security (monitoring) and crowd controller in Queensland, must have completed the 14m core competencies within the CPP20218 – Certificate II in Security Operations course. This qualification reflects the role of a security officer, responsible for maintaining safety and security by patrolling, protecting or guarding property while unarmed, and screening entry, monitoring and removing persons from a premise.

Most of HLTAID009—the theory component—can be completed online, however the final practical assessment must be conducted at APS Bundaberg or on-site at your workplace if arranged beforehand with our staff. Participants must show they are physically capable of performing uninterrupted CPR for at least 2 minutes on an adult CPR manikin placed on the floor.

When you received your licence, you should have received expiry dates for each ongoing training unit on the licence notice. You must complete these ongoing training units again before the due date.
