Certificate IV in Mental Health
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)Advance your skills and knowledge to support, communicate and work with people who experience mental health and alcohol & other drug related challenges. If you are passionate about supporting people, this qualification can open doors to rewarding opportunities across the community health sector.
In a supportive learning environment, you will gain practical skills to support people in their recovery journey. This includes social, emotional and physical wellbeing, trauma informed practice, how to respond to crisis situations and the ability to implement own self-care along the way.
Contains 15 Units of Competency, including 11 core and 4 elective units.
Duration
- Virtual Training - 10 months of training with weekly classes.
- On Campus Study - 12 months of training with fortnightly classes.

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
This program is suitable for students who are currently employed and able to complete the required workplace assessments. You will be asked to complete a Learner Profile to ensure your suitability to join the program.
Workplace assessments involve providing examples of specific tasks you have completed in a workplace or structured volunteering environment, signed off by a Workplace Representative from your workplace. This qualification also requires 80 hours of logged work placement. Discuss with Activ Pathways to see whether your existing workplace will be suitable.
Practice new skills and knowledge and utilise existing experience during training and assessment.
You will require intermediate computer skills such as internet browsing, email, word processing, and presentation software.

- WA Subsidised Training This training may be subsidised by the WA Government for eligible individuals. Places are limited.
Funding eligibility conditions apply – students must be an AU/NZ Citizen, Permanent Resident OR be on an eligible VISA (eg. International Visa 500 not eligible)
