Work alongside physiotherapists and occupational therapists in a dynamic allied health team making a real difference in people’s lives.

Allied health assistants (AHAs) provide therapeutic and program related support to allied health professionals, such as physiotherapists, speech pathologists and occupational therapists. The worker is required to identify client circumstances that need additional input from the allied health professional.

AHAs may be engaged to work in a specialty area or work generically across the organisation in delivery of allied health assistance services. The worker, in conjunction with the allied health professional, may have responsibility for supervising other allied health assistance workers.

Entry requirements

Domestic Students

  • There are no mandated entry requirements.

All applicants are required to complete BSKB and must obtain exit level 3 in both literacy and numeracy (working at level 4)., Applicants are required to have successfully completed Year 10 or equivalent, Please note: Students need a valid Working with Children Check (volunteer), a clear national police check and immunisations to undertake practical placement., students must be 18 years old prior to commencing practical placement (4th term of respective enrolment), Students need to be able to complete manual tasks associated with therapy assistance and should have a proficient level of physical fitness to be able to complete the course
