Certificate III in Patisserie
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)The Certificate III in Patisserie provides you with the practical cookery skills and knowledge required to work safely in a commercial patisserie environment.
As well as the practical skills, this pastry chef course will also teach you the skills needed to work effectively and safely as part of a team in a commercial setting.
This nationally recognised course is made up of classroom-based education as well as practical training in our on-campus patisserie kitchens.
You may be able to study part of the theoretical portion online.

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
Must be at least 16 years of age
If you possess a secondary school (Year 12) certificate, or have completed a Certificate IV or higher qualification – entry into any course
Year 11 or above (Victoria, Australia) or equivalent International qualification as recognised by the Department of Home Affairs OR
Mature aged entry, with any one or both of the following applies:
- Demonstrating relevant work experience in the vocation chosen to study AND/OR
- Application into a package of courses which cover the pre-requisite knowledge and skills (e.g Certificate III, Certificate IV and Diploma)
ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (ONE OF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA ONLY):
- Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) test/ Certificate in Advanced English - 169
- International English Language Testing system (IELTS Test) - Overall band score 6
- Occupational English Test (OET) - a score of at least B for each test component
- Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE) - 50
- Test of English as a Foreign Language internet-based test (TOEFL iBT) - 64
ENGLISH LANGUAGE EVIDENCE EXEMPTIONS
- English proficiency of Advanced level or EAP 1 - 2 from Academia International - Pass with an average of 60% or higher
- Passing Academia International’s Placement test. Pass with an average of 85% (with a minimum of 85% for speaking)
- Senior Secondary Certificate of Education completed in Australia
- Certificate IV or higher completed in Australia
- Completing tertiary studies in the medium of English
- Evidence of at least 5 years of studies in an English speaking country (Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Canada, United States of America, South Africa, Republic of Ireland)
- If English is the student’s first language
