They’re adept at skilfully delivering effective organisational outcomes, driving decision-making and navigating politics, while also engaging, inspiring, influencing and empowering their teams and other colleagues.
The Management and Leadership major focuses on the crucial role of modern, connected and versatile managers, and will prepare you for a career in management in local and international settings. You’ll learn key management, leadership and organisational principles, and apply them to a range of business contexts. Building knowledge and skills in critical, strategic and integrated thinking, you’ll develop higher-level skills to help you excel in areas such as leading people, communicating clearly and effectively, working collaboratively, adapting to change, innovating and managing diversity.

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
Assumed knowledge
HSC Mathematics Standard 2 or equivalent. If you don't have the assumed knowledge, you're advised to include a quantitative methods elective unit in your first year of study.
Recognition of prior learning (RPL)
If you’ve completed prior study at diploma level or higher, you may be eligible for credit towards your degree.
Your prior learning may consist of:
- formal learning (post-secondary study)
- informal and non-formal learning (work and life experience).
English language requirements
When applying to study at Macquarie University, you’re required to provide evidence of proficiency in English.
You may satisfy the English language requirements if you’ve completed:
- senior secondary studies equivalent to the New South Wales HSC
- at least one year of full-time Australian or comparable tertiary study in a country of qualification.
The required standard of English for this degree is: IELTS band overall 6.5
