Welding Instructor

A Welding Instructor teaches others to weld safely and effectively. You’ll demonstrate correct techniques, provide advice and feedback to students and assess their competency with welding skills. Welding Instructors might work for a vocational training centre or a registered training organisation. You might instruct apprentices or other trade professionals looking to develop their welding skills.

Welding Instructors need to have strong personal skills and be able to work with people from a range of backgrounds. You’ll need to be a good communicator and be able to clearly explain welding techniques and processes. It’s important that you are a skilled welder and have excellent attention to detail. You may be teaching many students at one time so you’ll need to be organised and have good time management.
