Trainee Support Worker

A Trainee Support Worker is employed in aged care or disability services to help clients with their daily activities. You might support people in their own home or in a care facility. Trainee Support Workers offer practical support with tasks like cooking, cleaning and personal care but they also provide emotional support and companionship. You’ll meet with other health care workers to help your clients receive the support they need.

Trainee Support Workers need to be patient and reliable. Depending on your client you might have to do some physical work and heavy lifting. It’s important that you are understanding and empathetic. Trainee Support Workers need to have good communication skills and be able to interact with a wide range of people.
