Sports Nutritionist

Sports Nutritionists work with athletes and fitness enthusiasts, helping them refine their diet and lifestyle to improve their sporting performance — as well as overall health and wellbeing. They create individualised menus and eating plans, teach clients how to prepare and store foods for optimal nutritional value, and collaborate with sports coaches and support crews.

As a Sports Nutritionist you could be carrying out an initial assessment with a professional athlete to determine their sporting goals and current dietary health, designing a questionnaire to assess an athlete’s lifestyle and how it is impacting their sports performance, collaborating with a coach to understand the athlete’s training schedule and dietary needs, designing a meal plan for an athlete with food allergies, tracking athletic performance via a database, or updating client records.
