Sports Administrator

Sports Administrators focus on the business-side of sport, ensuring that sports clubs, venues, teams and athletes have appropriate documentation, financial records, compliance policies, and safety procedures. They are often involved in the marketing function as well as purchasing, stock control, and event organisation.

As a Sports Administrator you could be developing a code of ethics and behavioural standards for players, purchasing sports equipment, sourcing a supplier for printed merchandise, booking team flights and accommodation for an ‘away game’, ensuring home game umpires and officials have correct licences and credentials, testing the reliability of scoring procedures, attending a staff meeting, or squeezing another appointment into your work calendar.

This is an extremely busy role and you’ll need to be highly organised (as well as a level-headed problem-solver) to succeed in this occupation.
