Seed Technician

A Seed Technician produces and processes seeds for use by farmers and nurseries. You’ll work in a seed processing facility and may have to sort and handle various types of seeds. Seed Technicians pack seeds ready for sale and ensure they are bagged, labelled and stored correctly. You might also liaise with customers and provide advice on the best seeds for their needs.

To be a Seed Technician you’ll need excellent attention to detail. You’ll have to be very organised and able to follow correct processes. Seed Technicians should be able to operate a range of seed processing machines and equipment. It’s important that you can communicate well with customers and understand their needs. Seed Technicians will usually work as part of a larger group so you’ll need good teamwork skills.
