HGV Driver

A HGV Driver transports goods in a truck or other heavy vehicle. You might perform safety checks on your vehicle and fill out relevant documents before leaving a destination. HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) Drivers, or Lorry Drivers, prepare trucks for loading and ensure goods are properly secured and meet load limitation requirements. You might transport goods within your local area or drive larger distances including interstate.

HGV Drivers should be highly skilled and able to manoeuvre vehicles into various loading and unloading locations. It’s important that you focus on safety and can meet your obligations with aspects such as speed, fatigue and delivering goods on time. HGV Drivers may work irregular hours and often spend long periods of time away from home.
