A Garden Designer plans and creates gardens for community areas or private residences. You might liaise with clients to develop ideas and come up with drawings and costings for each project. Garden Designers may choose garden products such as plants, trees and shrubs as well as landscaping materials and structures such as seating or sculptures.

Garden Designers should be creative and have a strong knowledge of landscaping issues. You should be able to communicate well with clients as well as with landscaping teams. Garden Designers should enjoy working outdoors and be able to adapt their designs to meet their clients’ needs.
