An Electrician carries out repairs and servicing on a range of electrical equipment or systems. You might install new electrical work or diagnose problems with existing systems. An Electrician, or General Electrician, often performs testing to check for safety or to check for faults. You might specialise in residential electrical work or work in an industrial setting.

Electricians should have strong observational skills and excellent attention to detail. You must be a good problem solver and be able to adapt your skills to suit various circumstances. Electricians should be safety focused and must be able to follow correct procedures during their work. You should be a good communicator and be able to work as part of a team.
