Dietetic Assistant

A Dietetic Assistant provides dietary advice to clients to suit their individual needs. You’ll work with a qualified dietician to develop meal plans and offer information on nutritional needs. A Dietetic Assistant, or Dietary Aide or Dietary Technician, might work with clients with particular needs such as people trying to lose weight or people with diabetes.

Dietetic Assistants need to have excellent personal skills and should be able to communicate with a diverse group of clients. It’s important that you can listen to clients’ concerns and understand their individual circumstances. Dietetic Assistants need to understand nutritional needs and be able to follow the instructions of a supervising dietician.
