Community Volunteer

A Community Volunteer gives their time to help other people in need. You might work with a not-for-profit group, a community services provider or a government organisation. Community Volunteers assist with a range of tasks or they may simply provide companionship for people in care such as in a hospital or a nursing home. You might also volunteer your time with fundraising or administrative tasks.

To be a Community Volunteer you’ll need to have excellent listening skills. You’ll need to be able to follow directions and communicate well with people in a range of settings. Community Volunteers should be understanding and patient. You might also have to be flexible with the tasks you do.
