This pet or dog grooming course is for persons operating within an organisation that provides professional pet grooming services. A pet or dog grooming attendant undertakes salon reception and housekeeping duties as well as bathing, brushing, trimming and other basic grooming services for domestic pets, usually dogs and in some cases cats. The duties require patience and a genuine empathy for animals, excellent customer service skills as well as high standards of cleanliness and professionalism.

Individuals in these roles perform a range of animal care tasks under broad direction which involve discretion and judgement in handling stock and animals, coordinating resources and problem solving. They are required to take responsibility for their own work including, carrying out assigned tasks, compliance with animal welfare, organising processes, solving problems and working to schedules. The duties require patience and a genuine empathy for animals, excellent customer service skills as well as high standards of cleanliness and professionalism.

This course is for Groomers with industry experience looking to further their skill set or those looking at advancing their qualifications further. The Advanced Grooming Skill Set is also a prerequisite for those wishing to complete the Masters.
