About EPEC Education

This qualification reflects the role of educators in early childhood education and care who work in regulated children’s education and care services in Australia. They support children’s wellbeing, and development in the context of an approved learning framework. Educators use a range of well-developed skills and knowledge using discretion and judgment when carrying out their work in the context of established policies and procedures. They may work independently or under the guidance of others, though in some contexts that guidance may not be on-site.

The Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care will extend on your existing skills within the childcare environment, allowing you to progress in a number of areas. The Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management is aimed at middle managers in a variety of community sector organisations including education and care, disability or aged care industry. Employees at this level plan and monitor service delivery, recruitment of other workers, performance management, risk management, and contribute to continuous improvement within the scope of their specific roles. Other tasks may include program or project management, or management of broader community-based organisations, such as early childhood education services.

A Diploma of School Age Education and Care will give you the skills and practical knowledge to plan, implement and evaluate creative programs that support the developmental needs of school aged children in an education and care setting, and work within regulatory frameworks.

This nationally accredited unit describes the skills and knowledge required to follow organisational infection prevention and control procedures, including implementing standard and transmission-based precautions and responding to infection risks.

The Certificate IV in School Based Education Support is a nationally accredited education support course where you will learn how to help and assist children learn and grow in the classroom, including children living with disabilities or who have other special needs.

This nationally recognised unit describes the skills and knowledge required to implement and monitor work health and safety (WHS) policies, procedures and work practices as part of a small work team.

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to support and protect children and young people who are at risk of harm. This work occurs within legislative and policy frameworks and carries a duty of care responsibility. This Unit applies to employees in a range of job roles providing services to children and young people, including those personnel who provide care in community services and health contexts.

This nationally recognised unit describes describes the skills and knowledge required to address duty of care requirements, working within an ethical framework and applying relevant legislation, codes of conduct, international agreements (such as the Convention on the Rights of the Child), policies and procedures in identifying, responding and supporting children’s and young people’s rights and safety.
