Transmit and Receive Information by the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS)
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)This course covers the requirements of the STCW Reg IV/2. Individuals holding the Certificate are rapidly alerted to distress incidents, so they can assist in a co-ordinated search and rescue operation with the minimum of delay.
Participants in the GMDSS (GOC) will receive training in the use of digital selective calling techniques for communication using MF, HF and VHF radiotelephone, HF radio telex and satellite communication using INMARSAT-C ship earth stations.
