Provide First Aid

Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET) This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies. The unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

Entry requirements

Domestic Students

  • There are no mandated entry requirements.
  • Must be over 18 years of age.
  • At the time of enrolment prospective students are made aware of the fact that a reasonable level of reading, writing and comprehension of the English language is required, due to the high volume of documents required to be processed as part of the course. In most cases, LLN support can be provided. Where only a low level of support is needed, the program manager may arrange for the student to receive extra-curricular assistance from the trainer or other staff member.
  • Where an applicant’s LLN deficiency will clearly inhibit achievement of learning outcomes and the applicant refuses LLN support, enrolment may be declined.
