Provide First Aid response in an Education and Care Setting

Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)

This course delivers basic instruction in the assessment and application of first aid for infants, children and adults and what the initial response to an emergency, injury or illness should be. This is not a replacement for professional medical care but is required information for educators and support staff for business Work Health and Safety (WHS) compliance.

HLTAID012 Provide First Aid Response in an Education and Care Setting unit is relevant for directors, educators and support staff working within an education and child care setting where it may become necessary to respond to a first aid emergency, together with asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies.

This unit of competency contributes towards approved first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis training under the Education and Care Services National Law, and the Education and Care Services National Regulation (2011).
