Operate Local HV Switchgear

The UEPOPS116 Operate Local H.V. Switchgear course provides participants with knowledge of the Victorian rail signalling high voltage (HV) systems and procedures to prepare, carry out and complete HV switching procedures to a given schedule.

HRD offers HV Signals Operator training for first time participants as well as those looking for reaccreditation. Both programs follow the same structure however duration and assessment requirements may vary.

Entry requirements

Domestic Students

  • There are no mandated entry requirements.

Participants are required to have a valid first aid certificate and UETDRMP007 Perform Rescue from a Live Low Voltage Panel. Participants should provide verified or demonstrated recent High Voltage Signals Recipient (HVSR) experience and/or hod a current HVSR certification.

Participants are expected to be employed in a rail signalling role. Participants must also hold a current Category 3 medical certificate.
