Master of Professional Psychology
Nationally Recognised Higher EducationThis one-year degree provides advanced professional training in psychology.
The course will equip you with education and training in the professional practice of psychology and is designed to integrate coursework, research and placement components with an emphasis on experiential learning. You will be provided with a rewarding and relevant learning experience throughout the course.
Throughout the program, linkages are made specifically for you to develop detailed understanding of the relationships between psychological theory, the scientific evidence base for these theories, and the clinical applications of both theory and research. The skills you develop will enable you to operate from a scientist practitioner perspective, with well-developed knowledge of psychometric measurement, case formulation, treatment planning and intervention strategies.

Admission criteria
What you need in order to get into this course. There are different pathway options depending on your level of work and education experience.
A four-year undergraduate Australian Psychology Accreditation Council-accredited psychology degree, completed within the last 10 years. Entry is competitive and shortlisted candidates will be interviewed. You must also be eligible for registration with the Psychology Board of Australia as a provisional psychologist.
Overseas Psychology degrees must present an overseas qualification assessment from the Australian Psychological Society (APS) showing that the degree is comparable to an Australian 4 year Bachelor of Psychology.
Ranking and Selection Process
- Applicants will be ranked and selected based on published entry requirements and entire academic record.
- Applicants must provide all required documents and be assessed as eligible to be included in the ranking for an offer.
- Meeting the minimum entry requirements and course specific prerequisites, does not guarantee selection.
- In the event the course reaches capacity the University reserves the right not to proceed with subsequent offer rounds.
