As a requirement of education standards provided by the Financial Adviser Standards (FAS), the unit develops students' appreciation of ethics and their ability to evaluate and apply ethical principles in the decision-making process in financial planning.
The Financial Planning professional must be able to build a deep understanding of their client’s needs and be able to anticipate issues many clients may not have considered.
This unit gives students an advanced and integrated understanding of Financial Advice Regulation in Australia including the relevant sections of Chapter 7 of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth).

- completion of a bachelor degree or higher in any discipline
Depending on your previous qualifications and professional experience, it may take you 1.5 years or 1 year to complete your 2-year masters degree (refer to Recognition for prior learning for additional information).
English language proficiency requirements
To meet the English language proficiency requirements of this course, you will need to demonstrate at least one of the following:
- bachelor degree
- IELTS overall score of 6.5 (with no band score less than 6.0) or equivalent
- other evidence of English language proficiency
