Nationally Recognised Higher EducationThe Master of Counselling provides a postgraduate qualification that builds upon existing knowledge of interpersonal communication. It delivers key information about the importance of personal and professional self-care, trauma-informed practice and the use of telehealth services. This qualification has been designed to prepare you for a professional career in counselling, to improve current practice, or to take counselling theory into real-world settings.
A counselling master's is the highest level of counselling training available in Australia and provides a holistic environment for you to gain hands-on experience, practising your counselling skills in a professional and supervised setting. You will be equipped with a wide range of skills to enable further lifelong learning, support continued resilience and set professional boundaries to facilitate effective interpersonal communication across business, community, education and well-being settings. Work placement during your course will allow you to put your skills into practice and complement your theoretical learning.

Before you begin your application to study as a domestic student, check that you meet the requirements listed below.
- AQF Level 7 (Bachelor degree) or above in a relevant discipline; OR
- A Bachelor's degree and complete the Torrens Work Life entry form demonstrating your interest in and suitability to gain entry to the course.
