Confidence and competence in digital and social media is crucial for all marketing industry professionals, and those who own or manage a small to medium business. This specialisation is designed in consultation with industry, so students become proficient in the application of digital marketing technologies relevant to their careers. Students participate in a range of projects which include developing a social media marketing plan; and learning about digital analytics, Search Engine Optimisation, and artificial intelligence. These skills can be applied to the development of new products and strategic marketing plans to assist in organisational success. Contemporary issues facing marketing practitioners in today's local and global marketplace are also addressed so graduates are world ready.

Academic Admission requirements (Band 6)

The following course-specific admission requirements are mandatory and must be satisfied by all applicants. These requirements are in addition to or supersede the minimum requirements outlined within the Academic admission requirements band section below.

All applicants are required to have a Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of three years of relevant supervisory/management experience; or equivalent prior learning including at least five years relevant professional experience of which at least three of these years must be at a supervisory/management level.

Successful applicants with a Graduate Certificate qualification or higher in Business/Commerce may seek reduced course duration by applying for recognition of prior learning. One or more of the specialisations in this course has admission requirements. Refer to the specialisation for more information.

Academic admission requirements (Band 6) may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:

  • Bachelor degree; or
  • Equivalent prior learning including at least five years relevant professional experience.

English Language requirements (Band 4)

English competency requirements may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:

  • IELTS Academic Overall band minimum score of 6.5 (no individual band less than 6.0);
  • Bachelor degree from a country specified on the English Proficiency Bands page;
  • Successfully completed 0.375 EFTSL of study at postgraduate level or higher at an Australian higher education provider (or equivalent);
  • Where accepted, equivalent prior learning, including at least five years relevant professional experience; or
  • Other tests, courses or programs defined on the English Proficiency Bands page.
