Our Graduate Certificate in Data Science is tailored for professionals with a strong mathematical or quantitative background wanting to obtain the foundational skills in order to explore a career in data science.

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
To be eligible for admission, an applicant is required to have:
- a three year Australian bachelor's degree in a cognate discipline that demonstrates a background in computer programming and statistics with a minimum average of 60 percent.
English Language Requirements
You may need to provide evidence of your English proficiency to study with us. Find out which requirements are applicable to you below:
Option 1:English is my first language.
If English is your first language, you may be able to meet the English language requirements if you have;
1. citizenship or permanent long-term residency (minimum ten years), AND
completed secondary or higher education (tertiary) studies recognised by the University in an approved English-speaking country.
Option 2: English is NOT my first language.
If English is not your first language, you may be able to prove English proficiency with an approved English skills test taken within 2 years of commencing the course.
Required scores:
1. IELTS Score
- A minimum result of 6.5 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band
2. TOEFL - IBT score
- A minimum result of 85 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing
3. Pearsons Test of English
- A minimum result of 61 overall and a minimum result of 54 in each band
