- There are no mandated entry requirements.
Additional Entry Requirements
All applicants must:
- Complete an application form and provide it directly to the School of Dentistry;
- Provide a short description of research interests and aptitudes;
- Provide evidence of professional qualifications;
- Provide details of employment history;
- Provide 2 professional referees;
- Provide a full CV, including work history and publications.
Students applying for the following specializations must complete an interview in person via phone or Skype: Periodontics, Endodontics, Special Needs, and Prosthodontic. Students applying for the specialization in Orthodontics must complete a Multiple Mini Interview (MMI, in person), and manual dexterity assessments. Strict quotas apply.
Selection Criteria
Graduate Entry
Higher Education Study: A completed Bachelor of Dental Surgery or equivalent or higher. Applicants who hold a relevant Honours or Master's degree or equivalent will also be considered. Applicants must have:
- At least two years of general practice AND an Honours (research training) degree; OR
- Successful completion of the Primary Examinations of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons; OR
- Successful completion of the Primary Examinations of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons (UK).
English Tests accepted by the University of Adelaide
- IELTS: Overall 7
- TOEFL: Overall 94
- Pearson: Overall 65
- C1 Advanced: Overall 185
Qualifications that meet minimum English requirements: A range of alternative qualifications may meet the University’s minimum English requirements.
Tertiary Qualifications: Bachelor of Dental Surgery or equivalent or higher. Applicants who hold a relevant Honours or Master's degree or equivalent will also be considered.
Applicants must have:
