Diploma of Arboriculture
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET) This qualification describes the skills and knowledge for consulting arborists and tree managers. Graduates with this qualification assess trees and produce reports and documentation attesting to the health and risks related to trees. They diagnose tree disorders and defects, document and communicate recommendations for tree establishment, canopy management, tree remediation, environmental and habitat development and tree removals, within a legislative and regulatory framework.Delivery mode

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
Applicants must have access to a workplace and are required to have successfully completed at least Australian high school year 12, or equivalent, possess computer skills sufficient to undertake research, use database and word processing programs and download and upload files.
Applicants are required to complete a suitability appraisal and language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) assessment prior to enrolment.
Ideally, applicants should have achieved a Certificate III in Arboriculture or related horticulture qualification, have at least two years industry experience as a practicing arborist and must have access to a workplace.

The Australian Institute of Arboriculture is a private Registered Training Organisation (RTO #45502). We deliver practical training and provide a high-quality learning experience to individuals who wish to get qualified as an arborist and in other related careers in Australia. We seek to help new professionals and those already working in the agriculture, horticulture, and land management industries by giving Australians access to premium vocational education to develop their skills and help them gain the nationally recognised qualification they need.
Conveniently located just west of the M1 in Nerang, the all weather training facility which is set adjacent the Nerang State Forest offers off-street parking, fully equipped kitchen and amenities.
Trainer-led face-to-face delivery sessions focus on delivery of the underpinning knowledge and practicing newly learnt skills in a supervised environment, from identifying trees to pruning and felling.
