Course in Workplace Spotting for Service Assets
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)Have experience operating machinery such as forklifts, excavators or trucks?
Advance your skills and become a spotter. This course will provide you with the skills and knowledge to safely assist and guide machine operators who are working closely to overhead and underground service assets.
On successful completion, you will be eligible to apply to Energy Safe Victoria for licensing as an electrical spotter.

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
To enrol in this course, you will need to:
- be at least 18 years of age (in order to satisfy the ESV registration requirement on course completion)
- provide evidence of completion of Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) within the last 3 years
- have completed annual refresher training in Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID001) within the last 12 months, if Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) training was completed more than 12 months ago
You will also be required to provide evidence (licence, ticket, certificate or statement of attainment) of one of the following:
- license to perform High-Risk Work (issued by WorkSafe Victoria) for the item of plant that you will be spotting for
- current ticket/s in the field you want to be included on your spotter's ticket
- certificate/statement of attainment from a relevant training package/accredited course for each item of plant the spotter is training to spot for or be a trained dogman/rigger
