Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)This qualification reflects the roles of entry-level vocational education and training (VET) teachers, trainers, and assessors who deliver training services to vocational learners and assessment services to candidates.

Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
GOTAFE entry requirements
Complete a Basic Key Skills Builder (BKSB)an online test to ensure the required literacy & numeracy levels for the course are met.
Undertake a Pre-training review interview to ensure the course suits their needs and aspirations, and that they are likely to complete the course successfully.
Be at least 18 years old.
Have access to a workplace or suitable training environment that replicates workplace conditions where tasks such as delivering training sessions to, and carrying out course assessments on, suitable audiences of adult learners can occur. GOTAFE cannot support online-only learners with accessing these suitable audiences.
Be able to demonstrate vocational competency (from within the last 5 years) in their proposed teaching and assessing area. Vocational competency is defined as broad industry knowledge and experience, and may include but is not limited to, holding a relevant unit of competency or qualification.
Online only students
Have access to a suitable training audience of up to four learners at one time (these may be adult colleagues, family, or other personal associates) to deliver course learning and assessment tasks to.
Technology requirements
Intermediate computer skills to be able to work independently on computer-based activities.
Reliable access to the internet and a suitable computer setup for blended learning and submitting/uploading various assessment requirements.
A webcam, microphone, headset, and speakers for virtual meetings.
A video recording device (this can be a smartphone or webcam) to record assessment activities.
A second monitor is a great benefit when studying virtually but is not a requirement.
