Certificate IV in Ageing Support
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)This qualification reflects the role of support workers who complete specialised tasks and functions in aged services; either in residential, home or community based environments. Workers will take responsibility for their own outputs within defined organisation guidelines and maintain quality service delivery through the development, facilitation and review of individualised service planning and delivery. Workers may be required to demonstrate leadership and have limited responsibility for the organisation and the quantity and quality of outputs of others within limited parameters.
To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency. As this course is designed for existing workers only, learners will need to meet this requirement through their current work role. This may include providing evidence of employment, workplace observations, and other work based tasks.

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
- All learners must be at least 18 years of age.
- All learners must complete a language, literacy and numeracy assessment at time of enrolment, or alternatively provide a copy of a Certificate or Statement of Attainment for a Certificate IV qualification or higher.
- All learners must be an existing worker in a Health/Aged Care/ Disability setting.
- All learners must have a minimum of 12 months’ experience in a support/carer role in either the Disability, Aged Care, Health or Community Sectors.
