Certificate IV and Diploma in Building and Construction (Building)
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)The dual Certificate in Building and Construction and Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) are designed to meet the needs of builders and managers of small and medium sized businesses.
This practical course is delivered by registered builders in a real or very closely simulated workplace environment. You will cover common practical skills and knowledge required for the building and construction industry.
After successfully completing the dual qualification, you will have all the required knowledge to apply to become a registered builder in the class of Domestic Builder (Unlimited), with the Victorian Building Authority. The maximum duration for this program is 15 months.
This course is suitable for those who are new to the building and construction industry with less than 3 years’ experience. If you have more than 3 years’ experience or you are working in the building and construction industry, the Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) is recommended.
There are no prerequisites, however you should be employed within the building and construction industry.
You should also hold the unit CPCWHS1001 Work Safely in the construction industry (White Card) before commencing this program, or within four weeks of commencing. NCT can refer you to quality providers that deliver this unit.
