Certificate III in Laboratory Skills
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)This qualification equips students with practical skills in planning and conducting laboratory field work, recording and presenting data, performing basic tests and standard calibrations, maintaining a laboratory and more.
The course focuses on safety and aims to prepare students for entry level jobs as laboratory personnel, including laboratory assistants, instrument operators, and more.

No prior qualifications are required to study the MSL30122 Certificate III in Laboratory Skills. While there are no formal entry requirements for the course, a general interest in mathematics and chemistry is recommended, and basic computer literacy is advantageous.
On the basis of industry recommendation, and to improve employment prospects, students must be at least 17 years old to undertake the qualification.
As part of the enrolment process, a comprehensive pre-training review is conducted to capture current competencies (including language, literacy and numeracy). This process also aids in identifying individual learning styles and any support services that may be required so that training delivery can be tailored accordingly.
Students are required to wear closed-in shoes throughout the course, and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as instructed during lab work.
