Certificate III in Conservation and Ecosystem Management (Indigenous Land Management)
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)In 2021 the Certificate III in Conservation and Land Management (Indigenous Land Management) program was launched to establish meaningful land management training and career pathways for new entrant, green team members and rangers working within LLS and LALCs to upskill and build capacity for organisations and Community.
The program has developed and supported learning to revive Aboriginal culture through reading Country & gaining cultural fire skills to help manage the return of healthy Country across different vegetation groups.
The program is specifically tailored to meet the needs of the Aboriginal Community organisations and land management sector.

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
Tocal College prefers that students have either attained a Certificate II in CEM or statement of attainment in land management related units, and/or have some industry experience and a supportive employer.
To be able to complete this course you will need
- adequate language, literacy and numeracy skills
- basic digital skills.
To be eligible for funding under NSW Smart & Skilled, students must have:
- Australian citizenship, permanent residency or New Zealand citizenship
- No longer attending school
- At least 15 years of age
- Live or work in NSW

About Tocal College
The College is part of the Tocal Agricultural Centre—a Centre of Excellence within NSW Department of Primary Industries. It consists of the College, Regional Services and Regulatory programs, Tocal Field Days and Tocal Homestead. The Hunter Local Land Services (LLS) is also located at the Tocal College, CB Alexander Campus.
Tocal College also has a southern campus, Yanco Campus situated at the NSW DPI Yanco Agricultural Institute near Leeton, which provides a wide range of skills training courses, traineeships and the Aboriginal Rural Training Program (ARTP).
Tocal College provides training for school leavers and other people who are interested in a broad range of agricultural careers.
Training is incorporated into the agricultural activities occurring on Tocal's commercial farms. Students develop the skills and knowledge for a range of primary industries including beef cattle, dairying, horse breeding, rural business management, sheep production, poultry, cropping, precision farming, general agriculture and natural resource management.
The College also provides a caring environment that promotes both individual and team learning.
