Certificate II in Security Operations

Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)

To prepare participants for licensing as General Security Guard and Crowd/Venue Controller to ensure graduates are at a professional “work ready” standard for employment within the security industry. This course is also a pre-requisite for “Guarding with a Firearm” licence under the new security course package/s rules announced by the National Regulator (ASQA) in Jan 2019.

This course also includes First Aid, Defensive Tactics (Empty Hand Techniques), RSA and Fire Safety & Emergency Procedures. A module on “Terrorism Awareness in Australia” is also included in the course program.

This qualification reflects the various roles of the security officer, responsibilities for maintaining safety and security by patrolling, protecting or guarding property while unarmed, and screening of persons and vehicles, monitoring crowd behaviour and removing persons from premises where required.
