Certificate II in Construction Pathways
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)The Certificate II Construction Pathways at Wodonga TAFE is a comprehensive program designed to equip students with the basic skills needed to kickstart a career in the construction industry. Throughout this course, students engage in a dynamic learning environment where teamwork and effective communication are emphasised.
Through the construction of a cubbyhouse and working within a team, and under the guidance of experienced instructors, students learn the ins and outs of building subfloor framing, including the essential techniques for constructing bearers and joists. Hands-on practical sessions allow students to actively participate in creating and dismantling basic timber structures, gaining invaluable experience in real-world construction scenarios.
The curriculum covers a range of essential topics, including wall and roof framing, providing students with a solid understanding of key construction principles and techniques. Through a combination of theory and practical training, students develop the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in a variety of entry-level roles, or to progress into an Apprenticeship within the building and construction industry.
