Certificate II in Construction Pathways

Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)

This pre-apprenticeship course provides students with the basic operational knowledge and the development of skills applicable to a broad variety of trades within the building and construction industry. The course involves both theory and practical skills in building and construction, with an emphasis on carpentry.

This qualification provides a pathway to the primary trades in the construction industry with the exception of plumbing. Trade outcomes are predominantly achieved through an Australian Apprenticeship and this qualification allows for inclusion of skills suited for entry to off-site occupations, such as joinery as well as carpentry, bricklaying and other occupations in general construction.

Learners at school undertake training as part of a course of study within the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE). Learners post-school undertake training as part of an apprenticeship.
