Biotechnology Major:
This highly customisable major combines subjects in medical and environmental biotechnology, preparing students to drive new innovations in human and planetary health. Using their extensive subject choice options, they can build deep expertise in their chosen discipline or build a broad knowledge base that spans the breadth of the biotech field. As well as getting hands-on with emerging technology, students engage with course content that goes beyond scientific and technical skills development with subjects in biobusiness and intellectual property commercialisation.

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- Completed Diploma (AQF Level 5) AND
- Completed Year 12 (ATAR optional) with ATAR 76.20 or equivalent AND
- IELTS score of 6.50 or TOEFL iBT score of 79.00 or PTE score of 58.00 or its equivalent AND
- Assumed knowledge: Mathematics; any two units of English.
At least two units of science relevant to the individual discipline chosen is recommended; HSC Mathematics Extension 1 is recommended for those majoring in mathematics. - Completed Diploma (AQF Level 5) or above or overseas qualification at the required level AND
- Completed Year 12 (ATAR optional) or equivalent AND
- IELTS score of 6.50 or TOEFL iBT score of 79.00 or PTE score of 58.00 or its equivalent AND
- Visa requirement: To obtain a student visa to study in Australia, international students must enrol full time and on campus. Australian student visa regulations also require international students studying on student visas to complete the course within the standard full-time duration. Students can extend their courses only in exceptional circumstances.
