Help solve complex legal problems for individuals, businesses, firms, corporations, and not-for-profit organisations. This program is designed to produce law graduates with a practical focus, covering academic courses required for admission as a legal practitioner in Australia.

In this program you will:

  • Engage in active learning experiences and gain practical skills right from your first year
  • Research answers to legal problems, prepare advice, present legal argument, observe court proceedings, and partake in simulated court presentations in our Moot Court venue
  • Further develop your skills by working with Legal Service clients under legal supervision in the elective Law Professional Practice or undertake a legal internship in a law workplace

Prerequisites

English (Units 3 and 4, C)

For entry into most USC undergraduate degree programs, you need to have completed a minimum level of education similar to successful completion of Australian Year 12 with good grades.

Further studies, for example, a semester or more at college or university, can also be considered for entry and may give you credit transfer towards a degree.

English language requirements

You will also need to meet the English language requirements for this program.

  • IELTS (Academic): Overall score of 7.0 with minimum 7.0 in writing and speaking and 6.5 in reading and listening
  • TOEFL iBT: Overall score of 100 with minimum score of 25 for writing and speaking and 23 in all other sections
  • Pearson Test of English (PTE): Overall score of 65 with minimum of 65 in writing and speaking and 58 in all other subtests
  • C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency: Overall score of 186 with no less than 186 in speaking and writing, and no less than 177 in the other skills
  • Language of Instruction English (LOI): LoI English will be considered in limited circumstances on a case-by-case basis. Applicants who have successfully completed at least two years of senior secondary, post-secondary (eg VET/TAFE) or tertiary study where the language of instruction is English, completed within the last five years in any of the countries listed, may be considered: Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Republic of Ireland, South Africa, United Kingdom and United States of America. LoI English will not be considered for studies undertaken in countries that don’t appear in this list.
