- Extend students' knowledge and understanding of criminology and the role of research within areas of academic specialization
- Provide students with advanced skills in academic writing, including thesis preparation and standards required for publication
- Provide students with the skills to present their research orally and in writing
- Encourage students to become independent thinkers and researchers

Entry into one-year Honours is highly competitive. If you have demonstrated academic excellence (a Grade Point Average of 5.25 or above) during your bachelor degree you are invited to apply for Honours.
English language requirements
- IELTS (Academic): 6.0 Overall with 6.0 Speaking, 6.0 Writing
- TOEFL (Internet): 72 Total score with 18 Speaking, 21 Writing
- Pearson (PTE Academic): 50 Overall with 50 Writing, 50 Speaking
- Cambridge C1 Advanced: 169 Overall with 169 Writing, 169 Speaking
