Bachelor of Arts (Honours) (Ancient History)
Nationally Recognised Higher EducationThe fourth year honours program in Ancient History consists of two seminars and a thesis of 20,000 words on a topic decided by you in consultation with your supervisor.
Honours in Ancient History allows you to specialise in a particular field and to write a major piece of research and develop worthwhile transferable skills of analysis and critical argumentation. The honours year can be the culmination of your study of Ancient History or a pathway to further research in our postgraduate program.

Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
Admission requirement
To qualify for admission to honours students need to have completed a major in the intended subject area with an average of 70% or above. Some departments and programs have additional criteria, including advanced senior units of study designed to prepare students for the challenges of fourth year study.
English language proficiency
- IELTS score: A minimum result of 6.5 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band
- TOEFL - IBT score: A minimum result of 85 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing
- Pearsons Test of English: A minimum result of 61 overall and a minimum result of 54 in each band
