The Certificate IV in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education (10752NAT) is for ATSI peoples wanting to become registered teachers or qualified teacher aides. This qualification will prepare you for a teaching career or enable you to work immediately as a teacher’s assistant. The course covers: cultural identity, directly supporting ATSI students in the classroom, student literacy, supporting maths and science learning, identifying children and young people at risk, and computer skills. You’ll graduate able to confidently assist the teacher develop suitable ATSI language and culture lessons.
