Stable Manager

A Stable Manager oversees the daily operations at a horse stable. Whether you’re working in the racing industry, involved with stud work or running the stables on a farm, a Stable Manager ensures horses are well cared for and the stables are operating effectively. You might supervise other workers on tasks like feeding, grooming and exercising or you might need to manage animal injuries. A Stable Manager might also have to do other duties like rostering, budgeting and scheduling.

Stable Managers need strong horse handling skills but you’ll also need to be good at working with a team. You’ll need to be organised and have excellent time management. A Stable Manager’s job often starts very early in the morning and you’ll often work long days. You’ll sometimes work on weekends or have to flexible with your hours. A Stable Manager needs to be capable of physical work and be comfortable spending a lot of time outdoors.
