Road Construction Worker

A Road Construction Worker is part of a construction team that builds and repairs roads. You might operate machinery, transport materials or direct traffic. Road Construction Workers perform earthworks to prepare a site for construction, lay asphalt, bitumen or other materials to create a road surface and seal and finish new work. You may specialise in one of these roles or perform various tasks as required on site.

Road Construction Workers have a physically demanding role and work in difficult conditions. You’ll be outdoors in all sorts of weather and you’ll perform your job in a dusty and noisy environment. You’ll need to be able to follow directions and work as part of a team.
