Planning Engineer

The role of a Planning Engineer is to oversee the construction of civil engineering projects. This includes designing, planning and organising the project to see it through to successful completion. For instance, a Planning Engineer might be responsible for managing the construction of roads, bridges, dams, airports or pipelines.

A Planning Engineer is responsible for assessing the soil and rock before a building project begins, analysing materials to determine the most appropriate ones for the particular structure, planning transportation methods, and estimating and managing the budget of a project.
