Jazz Dancer

A Jazz Dancer performs in musical theatre productions or other projects where experience in jazz performance is required. You’ll usually perform as part of a larger dance group but you may get to do solo dances or perform with a dance partner. Jazz Dancers need to memorise choreography and perform set routines. You’ll spend a lot of time rehearsing and will have to attend a lot of auditions to secure roles.

Jazz Dancers need to be fit and spend a lot of time preparing for their roles. Your work hours will be irregular and you may have gaps between performance roles. You’ll need to be dedicated to your work and practice your routines during your own time. Professional Jazz Dancers need to be very experienced and highly talented.
