Interpreter Translator

An Interpreter or Translator converts written, verbal or signed language into another language. You might translate words into English, or translate English into another language. Interpreters and Translators are used in a range of settings from health care to courtrooms and other important meetings. You might interpret words as they are spoken or signed or you might translate a transcript or other type of text in written form.

An Interpreter or Translator needs to be fluent in the language they are translating or interpreting as well as in English. You’ll need to be a good listener and be able to convey the feeling behind the language. Interpreters and Translators may work irregular hours and be called on for short periods when required. You’ll need to be flexible and able to work with various clients in a range of settings.
