Home Tutor

A Home Tutor works with students to support their education in a home environment. You might work with primary or secondary school students to improve their overall literacy and numeracy skills or you might focus on a particular area of need such as maths or spelling. A Home Tutor might conduct assessments to determine problem areas and will develop a learning program to meet students’ individual needs.

Home Tutors should be flexible and able to work with students with a range of abilities. You should be able to cover all subject areas and develop lessons to suit each student’s needs. Home Tutors will often liaise with parents and with classroom teachers so you’ll need to be a good communicator. It’s important that you are patient and understanding.
